Kia ora everyone!
This week has been super crazy I honestly cant remember what we even did. So sorry this weeks email is gonna be a little bit different I'm just gonna explain a few amazing things that has happened this week that I can for sure remember!
So one day me and Elder Iuli were on our way to the store to get some drinks for dinner and when we get there this guy walks up to us and said," Is it true? Did Jesus Christ really go to the Americas?" Without hesitating I said "I know he did!" We talked about it for a bit and he than asked some other questions like: How did Christ get to America? Who wrote the Book of Mormon? Why do we need the Book of Mormon? And he even asked if God created aliens haha and he asked heaps more. Needless to say he kept trying to see if I would give up and not answer his questions. But I answered every single one with the truth about what we believe. At the very end he stood there for a few seconds giving a little smirk and said, "Thank you. My name is Joseph. It's nice to meet you and I'm impressed at how well you stuck up for yourself and what you believe. I hope you have a great day." And than said bye and walked off... I was so stunned at what he just said to me that i was dumb and didn't ask him how he knew everything we believed and if he wanted to learn more.. we went Into the shop and came out a few minutes later and the guy was gone.. I searched and couldn't find him... for the next few days I've just been pondering what happened and couldn't help but think that our Heavenly Father sent that man to test me and at the end he thanked me for doing my job and sticking up for our church and for Him. And hey you never know maybe he was one of the 3 Nephites and was testing me😅😂
Maybe not but it was definitely a great but weird conversation and it made me feel more confident in answering all those questions!
Story number 2...
On Sunday we met a new guy named Joshua. Here's how we met him. That morning he woke up and had a very strong feeling he needed to go to a church. So he got ready. He got dressed in camo shorts and a tshirt and started walking to a Baptist church. He got there and found that no one was there and the doors were locked. So he turned around a started walking back home. On his way he saw one of the young men walking on the sidewalk. Joshua hurried over to him and asked if he was going to a church (because he was dressed in a white shirt and tie). The kid said yep it's right down the road. And Joshua asked if he could come along. So here we are just pulling into the chapel and we see these two walking to church. They came over to us and we were introduced!
We sat through Sacrament together and helped him feel comfortable because he was very nervous. After sacrament one of our members that just moved into the ward about 2 months ago walks up to Joshua and recognized him. Come to find out that our member used to be Joshua's teacher in school. They talked for a while and now we have someone to help fellowship! After elders quorum we talked to Joshua and the new member and we gave Joshua a Book of mormon and asked him if we can go to his house and teach him more about the church. He said sure and we now have his address and will be going to visit him soon! It was such an amazing miracle that all of this turned out the way it did. Just think of all of the things that God had planned. Joshua has lived in this area for a month and than feels he needs to come to church, the other church is closed, sees one of the youth walking, than meets his old teacher and now has coming to church next week! AMAZING! Our heavenly Father truly knows each and everyone of us! If this isn't proof I dont know what is! HE LOVES US! All of us!
Now an update on an investigator we have been teaching. Erica has been trying to decide if she wants to be baptized and she told us she needs to receive an answer. So we moved her baptismal date from the 16 of February to the 2nd of march. We hope to help her find her answer and continue to help her progress and learn of our saviors love for her. She loves having us over to teach her so we feel that she will get her answer soon!
We have some other people we will be trying to teach here soon so if things get moving on them I'll definitely let you all know haha
Man this week has been fun! I cant remember what all happened but there has been some crazy things happening! I hope these two stories can help someone and help them see our Father's love for us. He truly knows all of you and cares for you! Just trust Him! I love you all and hope you have a great week!!
