Kia Ora Whanau!
This week has been a pretty great week. I've seen so many great people take huge steps on the path to our Father in Heaven and I couldn't be more excited for the things happening here in the great NZAM! I'm so grateful for the opportunity to work with such amazing people!
We didn't do too much on Monday but we did have a lesson with a referral and it turned out so great! He has been going to church for a few years and his grandparents have been trying to get him baptized for a while now and he has finally got the chance here in Wellsford. He's a 10 year old boy named Maasi and he's been up in Kaikohe going to church and now lives here and he's so great he knows just about everything already and wants to be baptized so bad! It was awesome to get to meet him.
Tuesday we had District Council and hit up Macca's for lunch with the elders and than took off for Wellsford to do our studies and a little bit of tracting. We than went to pick up the branch president, President Pere. We took him with us to a lesson with Maasi. President Pere being from farther up north has heaps of relatives and friends from up there was able to connect with Maasi's grandparents and gain a relationship with them and we were able to discuss where Maasi will be baptized and where he will go to church. He will get baptized up in Kaikohe (2 hours north of us) but will be confirmed in Wellsford and will attend church here as well. We have been flying through lessons because he is so smart and knows everything pretty much he just needs to be dunked in the water😂 it was such a fun lesson and great to get to meet the rest of the family.
Wednesday we had some appointments with members and less actives fall through so we ended up in the flat cause it was just raining so hard haha. We had a lesson with Maasi again and I'm so excited for him and the path he is on. He's so excited to get baptized and he should be baptized sometime
after the 20th of April! Exciting news and can't wait! We than drove to Whangarei for a baptismal interview with a little girl who just turned 10 for the sisters in the district and boy was she super shy! It took her a little bit to answer the questions and warm up a bit haha but we got it done and she was baptized that Saturday. It was great her mom who is a less active was crying because she was so happy and has been trying hard to get back into church.
Thursday we drove to Kaikohe for exchanges with the zone leaders and not much happened but we did meet with the stake President up there and got to see how the work was moving forward it was great. We than went back to Wellsford Friday and did some weekly planning and because of all the driving that's all we pretty much got in haha
Saturday was a day I will NEVER forget! We got to go down to West Harbour to go to Erica's baptism and I was blessed with the opportunity to baptize her. I can't explain how happy I was for her. She has become such an amazing young lady in the past few months. I was able to have a warm welcome by the members of the ward as well. They all thanked me for what I was able to help the ward with and all I could think about was how blessed I was to be put in such an awesome area. And it wasn't me the did great things it was our Father in Heaven and Christ. They were the ones that did those great things I was just the one that was able to be there for it! I'm so blessed to be a missionary and to have had the opportunity to serve with such amazing people especially Selena and Erica Wong and I pray they will continue to love the Gospel!
Sunday we had fast and testimony meeting and it was pretty good. Such a small branch has such an amazing spirit with them and I couldnt help but think of the love God has for all of His children. We were able to go to Whangarei again for another baptismal interview and than back to say goodbye to the senior couple that has been serving here. It was pretty sad to say goodbye and to watch them say goodbye to the 1person they were able to baptize. They love each other so much and that's what is so amazing about a mission is the friendships that we build.
I can't say it enough. I have been so blessed to be apart of 2 baptisms and 1 coming soon, also being able to interview so many people that have been truly touched by the spirit. I have a strong testimony of the Gospel and how it truly does bring happiness. I love watching people grow and shine with the light of Christ. I'm so grateful for what God has blessed me with and can't thank him enough for putting Selena and Erica in my path. I know they still have some work to do but I know they are in good hands. This is what it's all about! Spreading the Love of Christ to all!
I love you all and hope you have enjoyed conference so far. Have a great week!
Ofa atu!
Love,
