This week was pretty good. I'm still trying to get used to all the driving and trying to find stuff to do but I'm getting there haha. It truly is a struggle trying to find stuff to do when there isnt that many people here. But the work moves on!
On Tuesday we had a lesson on service with Marco and one of his friends was there. It was going good. We shared Mosiah 2:17 with him thinking anyone that loves God would be completely fine with serving his children but Marcos friend who is a non denominational Christian completely tried to flip it on us haha. We talked about how christ always went about serving people and he said but did he really make peoples lives easier? He argued that sometimes christ made life harder for his apostles and said that sometimes when we serve people we don't really help them haha. Pretty interesting guy but we got out of it and Marco apologized for how rude he was later haha. Marco liked the lesson though and went out and did a nice act of service for his other friend.
Wednesday we didn't have too much going on but we did have some other elders stay the night at our flat because they had to go to Auckland the next morning. So that was fun haha.
Thursday we ended up serving one of the members in our branch. He needed to move some furniture to the branch presidents house so we helped do all that and then we took off for Auckland to stay at another elders flat for the special mission conference on Friday.
The special conference was awesome! We had Elder Brent H Nielson who is the Head of missionary headquarters and Elder Nattress of the area presidency and their wives there. It was so amazing we got to go through and shake everyones hand and meet them. We than had some trainings on getting along with your companion, finding people, working with less actives, and applying the atonement in our lives for forgiveness and for strengthening us. It was so amazing I can't even explain how lucky and blessed we were to have them come to Auckland to train us! Amazing people!
Sunday was good we had church and met with some less actives it was pretty good. The less actives here are so nice and love having us over they just struggle with coming back to church haha but it's all good they are trying!
That's pretty much our week! Its been a long one but it's been truly amazing! I love the people here in New Zealand. I was deeply saddened when I heard about the shooting here in Christchurch... No matter what race or religion you are Noone deserves to be shot while in their house of worship. God truly loves each and everyone of us and wants us to be happy. I know he was there to welcome all of those that passed home. New Zealand has been coming together and has been sharing their love to all of the different people here and are uniting to overcome this tragedy. I hope and pray that all the people here will become stronger and keep moving forward.
I love you all and hope you have a great week!
Ofa atu!
