Week 61

Kia Ora! This week has been pretty good. We had transfers and I have a new companion here in the Howick ward. His name is Elder Yardley and he is from Provo. So with transfers and everything we didn't have too much happen. We had heaps of lessons fall through. We have found a few potential people to teach so that has been promising. Tuesday we had District Council and tried getting some stake stuff done. We went on a small exchange to try and get extra stuff done in our area before Elder Barnes left. So I was with Elder Morrill from Utah and met with a few people but nothing to crazy went on. Elder Yardley also came back from the Cook Islands that night so I was already with him before transfers. Wednesday was transfer day and we drove around all day helping people with transfers. We had a really good lesson with Jane and Marcus and they said they would be coming to church. Marcus went to a different ward though.. He went with one of his school mates. Thursday we did heaps of contacting people and tried to find new people to teach and we ran into a South African couple and shared the restoration with them and we hope to follow up soon with them. Friday we had weekly planning and ran around doing things for other missionaries so not too much happened. Saturday we went around contacting people and tried to prepare for Jane and Marcus to come to church and then found out they wouldn't be coming so that kinda put a bump in our week. Oh well though hopefully soon. Sunday we had church and it was really good. We than had lunch with a family and set up a time to visit them and do an activity with them to help them do missionary work. We had a lesson with a recent Convert and that turned out pretty good. That pretty much sums up the week. We are excited to be serving together. Elder Yardley makes it 6 companions in a row that are from my intake so that's pretty cool. Very rare thing haha. Hope you all have a great week!! Ofa atu! Love, Elder Wilding

Week 60

Kia Ora! This week is going to be a shorter email. We had Zone conference and that was really good. We received a training on Facebook contacting people, motivation and a training on Jacob 5 by President Walker! It was pretty cool! I also did the haka for the first time and I wasn't that good haha. I made a few mistakes but I'll get better😂 We had some things come up in the zone so work in our area wasn't very progressive but we did have one lesson with a family on the restoration and they prayed to know if it was true! I'm super excited for them! This week is transfers so we will see what happens! Im probably going to stay here in Howick but we will see! Things can go completely different! I hope you all had a great week! Love, Elder Wilding

Week 59

Kia Ora! Sorry I missed last week's email we had a very busy and fun pday haha. So I'll just review last week a little bit before I get into this week. Last week was very busy. We were able to go to the Auckland City Mission again. That's the city service where you serve people food and sort out clothes and make little food packages to give to the needy. It was way fun and my first time in over 6 months so it was great! We than had exchanges with the two elders and I went with Elder Rogers. It was so fun and we saw some pretty cool miracles. We than went to have interviews with President Walker and after that we went to this big service with some other missionaries and we served people water and juice and helped them find their table. It was a Cook Island Mother's celebration and we got to see so many important Cook Island women and even the Prime minister of the Cooks. It was crazy cool and I even was in a group photo with Miss Cook Island haha what an experience! We also had an exchange with another set of Elders and I went with Elder Watson and we knocked heaps and found a new person to teach so that was cool. And we even found Palmyra! On pday we went to an escape room with a group of elders and I got to visit with elder Rogers more and than we went to a Korean BBQ place. It was so fun. That's the main things for last week and now I'll get on to this week. We didn't have too much going on. We had two really great lessons with a mother and her son and hopefully they will be coming to church soon. We had another great exchange. I learn so much from all these Elders and love doing the Exchanges! It was a longer week this week. Nothing to big happened.. Just trying to keep busy during the slow times. Hope you all had a great week though. Don't get too cold over there. It's starting to warm up here in NZ so that's great. Ofa atu Love, Elder Wilding
